Hosted by the University of Florida Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure & Environment, ESSIE Evening with Industry job, internship and networking event catered to students and alumni within civil, coastal and environmental engineering. This biannual fair continues to be a niche event, serving companies specifically seeking Civil, Coastal or Environmental engineers for internship and employment opportunities. During the evening, attendees will have the ability to speak and network with company representatives. Typically our student participants range between 325 and 400 attending with over 100 representatives from upwards of 65 companies and organizations. ESSIE undergraduate and graduate students, as well as our ESSIE alumni are welcome to attend.

Event Information:

  • Gates: Entrance is located at Gate 1.
  • Camera Policy: Small personal cameras are allowed. No professional cameras and NO DETACHABLE LENSES. The use of a flash is also prohibited.
  • Video/Audio Recording Policy: Video and audio recording is now allowed.
  • Concession Information: Concessions are not available for this event.
  • Parking: Parking restrictions are lifted beginning at 3:30 pm Monday thru Friday. It is open parking past 3:30 pm on these days. Please be advised that the only General Public parking near the O’Connell Center will be in the O’Connell Center parking garage as well as the lot. Parking is first come, first serve. Student Dress Code:

Please wear business casual attire (khaki’s and a polo) or business formal (suits/dresses). Dressing appropriately goes a long way. We suggest wearing something that would make sense for the industry but is still professional dress.

Avoid: sneakers, shorts, t-shirts or flip flops
