Are cameras/recording devices permitted?
Video Cameras and cameras with telescopic or zoom lenses are not permitted inside the O’Connell Center for most events. Please check the event profile for your specific event for more information. What items may I bring into the O’Connell Center with me?
We ask guests to arrive early and travel light, as you may be subject to search, which may include metal detecting hand wands upon entry. Furthermore, we ask that all unnecessary items not be brought to the O’Connell Center. For a complete list of restricted items, please visit our Security Measures page.
Is smoking permitted within the O’Connell Center?
In compliance with the Florida Indoor Clean Air Act, there is no smoking permitted in the O’Connell Center. This policy is strictly enforced. Violation of this regulation is grounds for ejection. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. The use of cigarettes or other tobacco products on the UF campus, including in parking lots and vehicles, is not permitted and in violation of UF policy 6C1-2.022. Can we bring food and beverages with us to the O’Connell Center?
For most events, outside food and beverage is prohibited from the O’Connell Center; however, there are concessions available once inside. For more specific details, please see the event profile of your particular event or contact Guest Relations at 352-392-5500. Can I bring my child’s stroller to the O’Connell Center?
While we discourage this practice, if necessary, guests may bring strollers to events in the arena. Please understand, however, that these strollers must be collapsible and stored in the inner lobby on the main concourse. Our staff will not guard these items for you. The O’Connell Center is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged strollers. For a complete list of restricted items, please visit our Security Measures page.
Can I bring a sign into the O’Connell Center with me?
Guests are welcome to bring signs into the facility with them to show their support for their favorite team, player, or entertainer. Signs may not be derogatory in any manner and must not contain foul language. Signs must be hand-held and cannot be mounted on a stick or pole, and they cannot block the view of other guests. Any interference with the enjoyment of another guest’s experience will result in the confiscation of the sign and/or possible ejection from the facility. Where can I park for O’Connell Center events?

How may I purchase tickets for the O’Connell Center’s events?
For non-athletic events, tickets may be purchased in person through Ticketmaster or at the University Box Office located at Gate 1 of the O’Connell Center. Additionally, tickets can be purchased online by visiting ticketmaster.com, by phone at 904-353-3309 or 352-392-1653, or at any Ticketmaster outlet. All tickets are subject to additional service fees on top of the advertised cost of the ticket. All tickets for University Athletic Association events can be purchased through the University Athletic Association’s Ticket Office by calling 352-375-4683 or by clicking here. The Stephen C. O’Connell Center Gate 1 box office is open approximately 1.5 hours prior to any event for any remaining ticket sales.
At what age does a child require a ticket?
For most events, all children who have reached their second birthday require a ticket to gain admittance to the O’Connell Center. Any child who has yet to reach their second birthday does not require a ticket; however, they may not occupy a seat. Please note that for certain children’s events, all children who have reached their first birthday require a ticket. Please check the event profile for your specific event for more information. I have lost my tickets for an event. What happens now?
If you have lost your tickets or they have been stolen before your event takes place, please return to your point of purchase for further assistance. If you have purchased tickets through Ticketmaster, please call Ticketmaster Customer Service at 850-434-7444.
Can I refund or exchange tickets?
The O’Connell Center has a no refund or exchange policy on tickets for any event unless the event has been cancelled. Should a refund be necessary due to an event cancellation, patrons should return to their original point of purchase for the refund.
My ticket is marked General Admission. Where do I sit?
Most ticketed events at the O’Connell Center are reserved seating events. For those occasions where we do have a General Admission section, your seat will be on a first-come, first-serve basis in the area designated for that event to be general admission. We ask that you do not reserve General Admission seats for guests that are meeting you inside the Arena. For some University Athletic Events, certain sections are designated as General Admission and are specified as such on the ticket. In all instances, Ushers are located throughout the arena, and in each of the gates to help direct you to your seating area.
Can I see the inside of the O’Connell Center without buying a ticket for an event?
Guests without tickets for an O’Connell Center event may still see the inner workings of the facility by visiting us on a non-event day or by requesting a guided tour. For more information, please contact Guest Relations at 352-392-5500, any weekday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
How early may we enter the O’Connell Center prior to an event?
For the majority of O’Connell Center events, doors open 1 – 1.5 hours prior to the event start time.
Can I leave an event and then re-enter?
All exits are final. Guests are not permitted to leave an event and then re-enter the same event. For more information, reference the facility re-entry policy.
How can I find out where my seats are located?

Does the O’Connell Center provide accommodations for the disabled?
The O’Connell Center is fully ADA-compliant. Disabled accommodations are made during the ticket purchase process. Patrons are asked to specify their needs at the point of purchase. To find out more information, please click here.
How do I obtain backstage passes for an event?
The O’Connell Center does not have access to backstage passes, and these passes are strictly within the control of the artists’ promoters.
Are there ATMs inside the O’Connell Center?
For your convenience, there is an ATM outside the Gate One Lobby and another ATM inside the Gate One Lobby on the main concourse.
Does the O’Connell Center have a Lost & Found?
Please contact our Administrative Office at 352-392-5500 to inquire about the possible recovery of any lost items. If you have lost an item while at an event, please speak to any Event Operations personnel for assistance.
Does the O’Connell Center have an elevator?
For your convenience, the O’Connell Center has an elevator located in the Gate One lobby and one adjacent to the Gate Four lobby that provides access to all three levels of the facility.
